Last week we talked about contacts and the history of event attendance. We mentioned at the end that the new module is a foundation for more useful features. Today we are glad to share with you the first step in this direction.

Public and private (or on-site) workshops are different. For the  former, you need to market the events, accept registrations, etc. For  the latter, you work with organisations and interact mostly with organisers, not participants. The payment process is also different, and  attendees usually don’t pay separately.

Though the processes are very different, most event management tools  don’t make any distinction between them. Private events are different  only by status. Not in Workshop Butler!

With the contact module, you can add new types of  contacts — companies. For each company, you create as many contact faces  as needed. These companies represent real-life organisations you work  with. In addition, the companies and contact faces can be assigned to private events.  Next time you give an on-site workshop in Deep Space Corporation,  create a new contact and select it during the creation of the event. The  system will also suggest you enter a gig’s amount.

This small change gives you a number of advantages. First of all, you  can track the history of gigs for one company, and see how much you  earned. Then the system won’t bother you with some small details like  paid statuses of attendees, or the amount they paid. You already added  the amount, right? The last, but definitely not the least, is a  registration form.

For private events, you don’t ask attendees to register themselves. A  contact person on the client’s side sends a list to you before or after  a workshop, which you import later. Our new registration form for  private events simplifies the process both for you and your client.

You just send a link to a contact person and that person adds all  attendees right to Workshop Butler using a one-page table-like UI. Nice,  hah!!

We believe these changes will help you to improve the management of  your workshop and increase the satisfaction of your corporate clients.
